MADE OF STARS
CHILDREN'S WELLBEING COACHING
The majority of brain development occurs before age 10.
By providing children of this age with the skills to manage their emotions and maintain
a positive outlook in times of difficulty these skills will be embedded for life.
Teaching the importance of wellbeing to children at an early age markedly reduces rates of depression and anxiety in later life. It can also lead to greater engagement and improvement in concentration as well as building a resilience
to enable children to cope with the challenges that they may face.
Made of Stars demonstrates different ways to self-soothe and self-calm in times of stress and anxiety
as well as showing children ways to use these practices at home to create healthy behaviours.
The activities we coach can be done at home, at school, before a dentist appointment
or any other occasion which may be causing your child concern or anxiety.
The Growing Gurus wellbeing toolkit includes breathing techniques, finger holds, positive statements,
gentle exercise and visualisations which require no equipment or cost.
The best bit about the tool kit is that we carry it with us all the time, without even realising it!
Growing Gurus sessions delivered by Made of Stars are designed to be interactive, fun and relaxed
and support physical health and emotional wellbeing.
An increasing number of young children are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression
with children as young as 5 self-harming.
Often children must wait months before receiving professional help which can lead
to unhealthy coping habits being formed during a crucial time of brain development.
Introducing good mental wellbeing practices from an early age helps children significantly
reduce the need for medication for anxiety, stress and depression both now and in their futures.
By providing children with skills to manage their emotions from a young age
Made of Stars aims to prevent a future of stress, anxiety and depression.
Practices children learn now can be used for the rest of their lives.
